In 1982 Argentine forces occupied the nearby Falkland Islands, which were claimed by both Argentina and Great Britain. Thatcher's government sent a task force to the Falklands that defeated the Argentines.
The first (known) time The Police performed Secret Journey, because of the release of this song as a single in the US during this period. The song only stayed in the set during the next ten days.
